About the event

Intergenerational trauma can impact individuals, families and communities in complex and lasting ways. This free professional development workshop provides an opportunity to explore how trauma can be passed between generations, with a specific focus on Aboriginal mental health and wellbeing.

Participants will gain insight into how intergenerational trauma can present in people’s lives, relationships and interactions with services. The workshop is designed to build understanding and awareness, helping participants reflect on their own practice and consider how services can be delivered in ways that are more culturally safe, empathetic and responsive.

This workshop is suitable for professionals, community workers and service providers who work with Aboriginal people or who want to strengthen their understanding of Aboriginal mental health and lived experience. Lunch will be provided.
